Why We Chose Linen: A Love Letter to the Fabric of Summer

It started on a dirt road in southern Italy. I was traveling solo, with no real destination in mind. One morning, I wandered into a small countryside village known more for its olive groves than anything you’d find on Instagram. That’s where I met Luca.

Luca was an old farmer with weathered hands, a kind smile, and a linen shirt that looked like it had lived a hundred summers. We struck up a conversation over coffee, and before I knew it, he was guiding me through his family’s farm — a patch of land that had been in his family for generations. It’s where they grow flax and cotton, the raw beginnings of the fabrics behind some of the most beautiful clothing in the region.

What struck me wasn’t just the land — it was the process. The patience. The pride. Every thread of fabric that left Luca’s hands carried a story. It wasn’t mass-produced. It wasn’t rushed. It was crafted. Woven with intention. I watched his team hand-harvest, sort, and dry the flax with an almost spiritual care. Not for show — but because they believed that what you wear should mean something.

That moment changed everything for me.

I came home with a new sense of purpose. I wanted to build something that honored the simplicity and soul of what I experienced on that farm. A brand rooted in craft, quality, and quiet luxury — where every piece felt like summer, and every stitch told a story.

So when it came time to decide what fabrics would define our first collection, there was no question. Linen was it. Lightweight, breathable, effortlessly elegant. It’s the fabric of coastal afternoons, barefoot walks, and golden hour dinners. It lives with you — wrinkles and all.

Every piece in our collection begins with that same old-world process Luca showed me. And while our designs may be modern, the spirit behind them is anything but.

We don’t just use linen because it’s timeless.

We use it because it reminds us why we started in the first place.
